These recent days…

Plugs: Krystal, Georgie, chazz, Luana @ Honey-Babe.net, Carrie,

I’ve been feeling like crap for the past few days. Blocked (and runny) nose and bad cough, the usual flu. It’s actually a bad time to be catching the flu at this moment since it’s only less than a week before the exams. I don’t think people will appreciate my coughing and sneezing reverberating across the exam hall.

I’ve been accepted for the government scholarship for the Master programme I’m taking now so all I need to do now is to fill in four copies of the Agreement form (7 pages each)1 and on top of that I have to go around scouring for relatives who would agree to be my guarantors. And then I will have to get the village headman to sign his name on that forms too. I’ve been through this before – when I wanted to get a scholarship during my undergraduate years – but it doesn’t make it any easier at all because you really have to be nice to all these people in order to get them to sign the forms. It’s a hassle, but there’s no way getting around it.

Earlier this month I’ve considering if I should apply for an online certification on web design or something along that line, considering it such a competitive world nowadays and people are trying every avenue there is to make him/herself marketable.

I’ve finally completed Goodreads’ 2012 Reading Challenge. This year I aimed to read 25 books (not a lot, I know) but I’ve managed to read 26 in all. If you have an account on Goodreads and you’d like to add me as your friend, click this link.

Speaking of books, I plan to do a book giveaway sometime in December. I am hoping this will be something people can look forward to and since the prize is a book, I hope whoever wins it will enjoy the book. I’ll work on the draft after the exams and hopefully we’ll see something by the second week of December.

As a side note, I’ve quit my job. I just don’t think I would be happy working in that place. Over there they really know how to wring as much time and effort as possible from you and giving back so little in return. My last pay was barely worth a week’s expenditure and, no I am not exaggerating. I know the pay is according to the set rate but heck does it have to be so low??

Lately it is bleeding hard to upload/download stuff to/from the internet. I am not quite sure where the problem lies; it’s either my laptop or the wireless router. I’m prepared to say it’s actually my laptop, but I also notice that the signal from the router is now somewhat less strong in my bedroom compared to a few months ago2.

  1. 7 x 4, you do the Math
  2. I hope it’s got nothing to do with my occasional thumping of the router whenever it’s not working properly. Only gentle thumpings, of course
