Graduated, what’s next?

Plugs: chazz, kressa, Leo, Rae,

And so, on September 29 I’ve finally graduated from the university with a degree in Social Science Education. 5 years of difficult university life, endless complaining and procrastination is over. Nevertheless, even though it was a long journey, it was also one of the best years of my life. I’ve met a lot of wonderful people and learnt so many amazing things. And it’s also the place where I met Leon.

Even though now my time in the university as an undergraduate has ended, I’m hoping to be back in the university in January 2012 as a graduate student. In the mean time, I hope I’ll be able to put the knowledge and skills I acquired into good use. I’m applying for a tutoring job at one of the tuition centres, hopefully I’ll get accepted.

I’m sorry I don’t have more pictures to share because I didn’t have my camera with me on that day. It was with my mom and most of the pictures she took aren’t good enough to be shared. And I wasn’t particularly keen to celebrate the day with my friends because none of my close friends were graduating with me. Most of them had graduated a year earlier so I was pretty much doing the whole thing on my own.

The only bit I didn’t quite enjoy as much as others was when putting on the graduation gown. It was a pretty gown and I love it, but putting it on was such a pain in the ass. Most people take over half an hour just to get the hood correctly positioned. Then there was also the hat (or gandi, as we call it). We had to put double-sided tape underneath it and attach it to our headscarf to make sure it doesn’t fall off. But overall, I am glad the whole thing went smoothly…

..except I forgot to say, “Thank you, Your Majesty” to the Sultan when I received the certificate from him. Oh dear.
