Rational thinking?

I’ve finally watched the Avengers. It has to be one of those few movies that left me wanting for more after it has ended. Each character was dealt in certain depth so you don’t actually felt they were just placed there out of convenience. Though of course, some characters got the extra spotlights for being who they were *cough*IronmanandCap*cough*. Anyway, I’m very much looking forward to the sequel. And you bet I’m uberly confident who’s going to be the main villain in the second movie. There’s only one person you can think of when relating this quote, “To challenge them is to court death.

On a totally unrelated subject, I’ve finally got myself an iPad. I finally see what’s the hype all about. Though for me, the tablet is used mostly for reading blogs and articles. And occassionally for Facebook and Twitter too. I wish I could do more with the iPad apart from for entertainment reasons, like I wish I could write some coding without having to buy apps for the program. If any of you knows of any programs/source code editors that can be used for coding (something similar to Notepad would be a bonus), do let me know. I’ve narrowed down my choices to Koder and Textastic but since I don’t have any first-hand experience on both so I’d like to hear your opinions on this matter. Which one do you think I should get?

It’s been a busier life than ever for me. I have now 6 classes to mind and each one of them is a headache. I can’t wait until the tuition school hires a new tutor and relieve me some of the burdens. It’s never a positive thing when you’re not happy with what you’re doing. I know I’ve heard counselors saying things like, “if you’re not happy with your job and there’s no other way out, you can make yourself happy by rationalizing it in this way: at least I’m making other people [by offering this service]“. I seriously think this is such an absurd logic, that is not thinking it out rationally, instead, that is a denial. How long can you keep telling yourself that the burden is worth putting up with as long as other people are happy?

I suppose that’s the only way to keep oneself from being grumpy and depressed all the time; by being positive and optimistic despite it feels like hell deep down.

I can see what the counsellors are getting at, but unfortunately for them, “rationalizing” is just another way of saying “making excuses.”

Definitely The Avengers is doing well because Joss Whedon himself is a big comic book fan so he understands how the whole genre works. I think the entire cast was great…Coulson’s early scene with Cap is one of my faves lol.

Having read your blog for some time now, what exactly made you want to get into education or teaching it? Most of the people I know who go into teaching prefer teaching younger children just because they’re more eager to learn than their older counterparts.

As far as coding, I much prefer doing it on a regular computer unless you’re using something other than the on-screen keyboard on the iPad.

I loved the Avengers movie too! :) It was fun, interesting, exciting and well plotted. AND with a low violence rate, which is good for kids and… for me. I really look forward to the sequel too.

Ah, I can’t give advice there, sorry. ^^” I have an Android tablet that’s cheap and low performing, and I really only use it to read and reply emails, read news and blogs, take notes while I’m away. I can’t update my blogs there because wp-admin won’t load *sigh*.

Well, that sounds like terrible advice to me… Thinking ONLY of others’ happiness is NOT the way we live. :( That’s denial, you’re right, and it’s also more like self-forced slavery. Bleh. What I do in these cases is to think that, if keep strong and do my good work in the hard times, I’ll get even better with my skills and do awesome on regular times. ^_^ That boosts my confidence.

    *hugs* Take care, sweetie.
