Shop ’til you drop

3 days ago Leon and I celebrated our fourth year anniversary together. We didn’t get to do a lot of things on that day because we were busy with work and all but we had a great time all the same. We had an awesome lunch and spent the afternoon in a bookstore and Leon got me a pretty bouquet of flowers. /love

Yesterday I discovered that you can have your blog printed out as a book. While it is easier and cost effective to just have a back up copy of my blog in my local drive, there’s something attractive about having a hard copy of my blog. It will be useful in the long run, I guess. In 20 years or so when my site no longer exists and I might have removed myself from the online world, I would still have something to look back at. However, for me the problem is not in finding the publisher who could do it because there are a lot of websites that offer the service, but I had trouble looking for one that could ship the book to my area. If you’re interested in getting your blog posts printed, you can try Blurb, Pothi, Lulu, Blog2Print or Feedfabrik. :)

I also spent two solid days looking for an online store that sells clothings for teddy bears because my Tatum Theodore “Teddy” Threadbear (below, left) needs a new shirt since the one he has now is already looking rather, err.. threadbare.

As much as I like shopping, there are times when I feel I should have more self-control and not spend the money I have on things I don’t necessarily need. It is not always easy to discern between needs and wants when the object of adoration is right before your eyes. :p

Once, when I was young, I had this journal which I wrote on, until I started getting tired of having to write. Then I got introduced to online blogging, and I loved it. I agree with you, it is an attractive idea to own a hard copy of my blog, since blogging contains memories. Thank you for the recommended links :D I bookmarked them and I’ll seriously consider having my blog printed in the future.

This is the first time I’m seeing someone buying shirts for bears :O Did you manage to buy one? I think it’s kind of tough to find exact dimensions and good materials for soft toys.. I think.

I didn’t know that about the blog books! That’s pretty cool :)

    - Hmm what if the future is about being online though? You may never be able to completely remove yourself. Just a thought.

Heheh, that’s the thing about the future isn’t it? You can’t really tell. But from the looks of it, the internet is probably going to be the future and while I may not be able to completely remove myself from it, I might approach it in a different way (i.e. I’d probably use the internet for a different purpose, just not blogging anymore). :)

I found out about Lulu not long ago. I’d hate to publish my blog as it’s technically already published on the internet, but I would want to publish the novel I’m writing through there if no agents like it. I love how they offer services like that! But yeah – I don’t really want to publish all my blogs. For other people maybe, but not for me. I think it would just stay away stored on a shelf.

Happy four years! <333 I'm glad you spent some time together.

I put all my plushies in a bag – well, most of them. I am getting over some of them and only keeping the precious and near and dear ones. :P

I have been trying to save money this month and not buy anything, especially food. James and I ate at so many restaurants last year, we're trying to save just for the one month. It can be hard when you're used to buying things here and there.

    Hello, I am doraemonlovemeow from blogskins.com :D

Aww those dolls look really cute individually and look CUTER together lol. Anyway… I have never thought of backing up my blog or printing my blog entries as a book. Hopefully Blogger doesn’t ever crash along with its whole database. But the idea sounds cool. xD

Having your blog printed into a book does indeed sound really appealing. It’ll be so fun to look back at it in 20 years time.

I can’t resist cute and pretty things, it really really tempts me to buy. Most of the time I do lol.

Thank you! The layout has been up for a while, but I guess you weren’t around. ;)

I used to go to a lot of cute websites as well, funny that some still exist now. When I sort of gave up on pixelling and all that cute stuff I still visited those websites often and some of them even moved and changed style too. It’s funny looking through archive.org to see the old versions.

I’m not sure… I think it was Orlando Bloom who used to be a toilet cleaner! I’m positive it was someone really famous though. Haha.

I actually just downloaded my old blogs from FanUpdate and deleted them from my server. I’ll admit there are some posts there that I don’t really want to see again; I definitely went through some tough times. Some things we do want to look back on, but I think that personally, since it’s digital, and easy to delete, I don’t really care. But I don’t want to destroy my physical diaries and journals. :P

Congrats on your anniversary! It seems like you were able to enjoy yourself on that day.

Wow, I didn’t know it was possible to have blogs printed. I might think of investing in such a thing because I always find it interesting when I reread the things that I’ve written in the past. But first, I gotta start blogging more! :D

And have you thought of having a browse on Etsy.com? There ought to be some teddy clothings amongst the mountains of quality handmade crafts.

Happy 4th anniversary for you and Leon :D Hope you two have a long last relationship /love

Yeah, sometimes when you look back on something you wrote at the past could bring laughter and some like “wow I was like this that time” it would be cool and fun to make a book from a blog we have wrote. Thanks for the websites recommendation, I never knew for something like this and will look for it :)

And yeah, there are sometimes when a thing catch your attention but the thing is something we don’t really need. You must have a good self-control. I usually couldn’t really bear for something I like on the first sight and I’ll end up buying them :P

I lost your website as soon as I shut mine down. I found you on Pop. You get stores that sell shirts for bears? We don’t have them where I live! Not fair /cry
    Congratulations on your aniversary!
